Quality Management

At AMAP we believe that quality, cost and maintenance form a virtuous triangle. Effective management of these three elements will lead to increased productivity due to less downtime, fewer reworked parts and more cost effective decisions regarding countermeasures for example.

AMAP have more than 20 years’ experience of helping companies to improve quality.  Working both at product and process level AMAP are able to provide companies with training, facilitation and consultancy in a range of core tools and processes.

In addition our staff have designed and delivered bespoke quality improvement programmes to companies large and small providing maximum impact from the use of tools and techniques.  Our role in Post Graduate Certificate and Diploma programmes has also allowed us to interact with and influence the performance of companies with regard to quality.  A selection of our range of short courses is shown here:

  • Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
  • Process FMEA
  • Statistical Process Control (including measurement for geometric tolerances)
  • Seven Basic Tools of Quality Improvement
  • 8D Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Quality Improvement for productivity - 7 day programme

AMAP is a partner with Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence and is a Hexagon Catalyst Centre providing measurement support and training to companies.  Our metrology facility has a Tigo SF CMM, a Romer Absolute Scanning Arm/CMM and a Faro portable CMM and scanning arm.

In addition to our in house capabilities, AMAP has access, via its partnership with Hexagon, to a very wide range of measurement equipment enabling us to demonstrate the potential of particular devices either at our premises or yours.  This try before you buy policy has proven beneficial to several clients.  It also allows clients to benefit from OEM training, including the linking of CAD to CMM programming for Design Verification and Product/Process Validation.  Offline programming of CMM's allows effective scheduling of inspection activities leading to improved productivity and the ability to meet tight production deadlines by managing an often overlooked bottleneck.
